Cha Kwo Ling Community Liaison Centre
Introduction
The Cha Kwo Ling Community Liaison Centre, located in Fan Wa Street, is now in service. The two-storey center, featuring an exhibition hall named as 'Heritage Hall’, showcases the exhibits collected from the three urban squatter areas in East Kowloon (Cha Kwo Ling Village, Ngau Chi Wan Village, and Chuk Yuen United Village). It also utilizes different means including new technologies to introduce visitors to the historical stories of the three urban squatter areas in East Kowloon, and at the same time, provides the latest information on site formation works and development works.
1.Exhibition Area
The daily necessities collected from villagers with history of around 60 to 70 years reflects the characteristics of era.
2. Villagers’ Memoirs
Displaying old publications and clippings realistically documenting the life of the villagers at that time.
3.Treasures of Childhood
The story of “Treasures of Childhood” enables everyone to recap the history of the three squatter areas.
4.Gallery
Precious photos of the three squatter areas reminiscing past life moments.
5.Photo Spot
Photo props like “Cha Kwo”, bamboo baskets and bamboo hats are available for taking memorable photos.
6.Theatre
Getting the latest situation of the squatter areas from the videos.
7.Information Kiosk
Offering various 3D interactive games themed around the history and culture of the three squatter villages, combining learning with entertainment.
8.Experience Zone
Experiencing the traditional & cultural activities of the three squatter areas through participating in the games on the interactive wall.
9.Mixed Reality (MR) Experience
Putting on Vision Pro to explore the 3D virtual reality space and experiencing the scenery and cultural highlights of the squatter areas. You feel as if you were there in person, listening to villagers sharing their precious memories.
10.AR Camera App
Using the AR camera to generate unique photos which blend 3D virtual objects with reality.
11.AR Qilin Fashion Design
By designing on the worksheet, followed by scanning the QR code, the virtual model will wear the outfit you exclusively designed for the Qilin team.
