Site Formation and Infrastructure Works for the Development

of ex­-Cha Kwo Ling Kaolin Mine Site (Phase 2) (Contract No. SD/2022/02)

Construction Period ?

Construction commenced on 31 July 2023. It is expected that the formed site will be handed over to the Hong Kong Housing Authority in the fourth quarter of 2026 for construction of public housing units and remaining works including the infrastructure works are expected to be completed in 2027.

Are the works going to be very noisy ?

Site formation involves rock breaking works. The contractor will adopt different noise mitigation measures, including wrapping the breaker head of excavator with noise absorptive fabric and installation of noise barrier on site. Noise will be controlled within the limited level specified in the construction contract.

What will be the future development after the site formation ?

There will be public housing development and associated ancillary facilities will be provided

at Three Urban Squatter Areas, Kowloon East (Contract No. SD/2024/02)

Construction Period ?

The construction works in Cha Kwo Ling Village commenced in July 2023 and are expected to be completed in 2029. The construction works in Ngau Chi Wan Village began in June 2025 and are scheduled for completion in 2028. Meanwhile, the construction works in Chuk Yuen United Village started in August 2023 and are anticipated to be finished in 2025.

What will be the future development after the site formation ?

There will be public housing development and associated ancillary facilities will be provided
